Kirby

The sky was beautiful today, it was very dark on one level but bright on the other. The whole day was like that. Everything on the ground was very bright but the sky was dark and cloudy, it created a lot of nice contrast. I shot this picture from the window of my room. I was scanning something on my computer and it was taking time, so I went and stood next to the window to kill some time when I noticed the strange sky. It was in the afternoon before it started raining and I decided to take a picture because I liked the contrast between the dark and bright clouds. Kuwait is a nicer place when the sky is full of clouds.

Mark, today the sky was FULL of opportunities. I saw some amazing cloud formations, and just as you said there were areas of brightness and areas of darkness. Golds, oranges, blues, browns, and bright whites...

fantastic day. I only managed to snap a couple of pics of the clouds, but I got an interesting one of Kuwait City, i posted it on my blog and on flickr.

Interesting how the blue in this pic of yours looks so rich... was it tweaked at all?

Thanks for more eye candy :)

Good job Mark.
Today I started my own photo per day blog.
Can't say I compete but I like the commitment part.

I saw two things yesterday in the clouds:

1) a big penguin looking down at me, and he was talking to me I think.

2) a rusty and slow cloud that was not even raining compared to the rest, and I looked closer and this was written on the cloud (BMW) :P

enrepreneur, the color was tweaked. I shoot all my pictures in RAW format. What RAW does is capture the photo as it is without compression and no adjustments to the image. Once I open up the image in photoshop, it gives me the option first to adjust the white balance, the shadows, the brightness, the contrast and the color saturation. Once I adjust these settings then the image opens. So since I have to control everything manually I can control the outcome of the picture. Its like when you develop a black and white picture in a dark room. you experiment a bit till you find the result you like.

fadibou, great pic for day 1. if you want though my advice would be to open a flickr account, its free. then have it post to your blog from there. at the moment the picture is TOO BIG and if you add more shots the site will be slow. With flickr u can control the size of the thumbnail.

Hi Mark and thanks for the advice.

I have a pbase.com account which loads much faster than flickr but I will take your advice as the photo is too large and I have to make it smaller for sure.
