Song & Dance

Tonight outside Marina Mall there was a traditional Kuwaiti troop playing and dancing. I was lucky to find them because if I hadn't I was going to post another sky related picture today since I didn't really go anywhere special. I have 9 days left before the project ends and I am trying to figure out what places in Kuwait did I forget to shoot so I could fit them into my schedule. Hopefully I won't leave out anything important.

Ummm ... JAHRA? duh :p and the rest of kuwait excluding salmya and salhya.

I'm only saying this because it sounds like you think you covered most of kuwait while you really didn't shoot much other than the areas where you live and where you work.

Looking forward to see the self portrait post. so you have 8 pictures to cover the rest of kuwait.

Good luck with that buddy. :)

I've shot in Salmiya, Kuwait City, Bayan, Mishrif, Fintass, Funaitis, Dajij, Ahmadi, Salwa, Fahaheel, Mesilla, Shuwaikh, Doha and some areas I don't even know their names or I have forgotten about. So if I sound like I have shot allot of Kuwait then yeah I have.

Don't take it personally if I didn't shoot your neibourhood.

Forget about my neibourhood, you will get beat up if you tried shooting there.

Check out the map of kuwait and just look at how big jahra is and how much it makes up of kuwait.

BTW I'm really not underestimating what you've done here and I don't mean any disrespect to your project.

Botata, He’s a foreigner, let him shoot anything he likes, go ahead dude, shoot the last 9pics. You can take those shots where ever you like, in fact I’ll be happy to take you my self.
But, please, ppppppppppllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssseeeeeeee
When this is over go away, far far away, and I don’t mean Jahra, don’t even think your welcome there “maybe for the shots only”. I mean some place where you have to crawl out of an igloo to take a piss.

Anti-social, what's with the attitude?

Keep comments on the photos and on the project itself ... racists and ignorants are not welcome here, actually they're not welcome anywhere for that matter.

Mark, ignore the asshole.

Antisocial, I ACTUALLY have read your blog before writing that comment. I believe you wrote the following:

"why are Kuwaitis so racists? We are the most racists country God has ever made. We hate every one, we are so angry at everything, so ready to get into it and rip the guyz head off."

If that's not racist, I don't know what is. BTW you should work on your english, It's "racist" not "racists" if you're using it as an adjective.

My comment about the chances of getting beaten up while shooting in areas like jahra and niegborhoods like mine is based on the fact that these areas are populated by bedouin conservative islamists who think photography is haraam in the first place yet alone shooting their homes. They will suspect you're taking pictures of their women or something, and something like that could easily turn into a murder case.

Mark, Don't people with nicknames like "antisocial" remind you of people with nicknames like "Mr.Immpressive" ? :D

Ever thought of trying Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Farwaniya? You'd be surprised at what you find in those places...the real poverty stricken places of kuwait. After going there...you'd be more appreciative of the vicinity you live in. But no..you wont get beat up..like you would in Jahra..and antisocial has a good point about that part of Jahra...dont wanna mess around in some streets there.

tata, shut up when you talk to me:)
though I am impressed how the English language actually made its way to Jahra. Oh ya, forgot you guys get KTV2:) And don’t try to make it like you live in Jahra, and I’m a Kuwaiti, and all that, we all know you’re a “bidoon“ but we don’t care here, if you need a “wasta” I’ll be more than happy to help.

Your serious lack of sense of humor is funny, really.

and BTW I don't need to prove to anybody that I'm kuwait because I AM.

I'm pretty sure you put that wasta into a good use by shipping you to New York to learn how to spell, Mr. educated bad speller

Usually I don't respond to lowlifes like you but I gotta admit your case is quite amusing.
